Ernst R. Dorsch, M.D., P.A.
PARTNER AND PHYSICIAN
Board certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine, digestive and liver diseases have held Dr. Dorsch’s interest since he started medical school. The enormous amount of research he’s done on the subject will bear that out. Dr. Dorsch belongs to a number of medical societies including the American Gastroenterology Association, the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the Texas Medical Association.
Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Dr. Dorsch came to Houston in 1971 and did his internship, residency and a fellowship through Baylor Affiliated Hospitals. After serving a stint as a Major in the U.S. Army Medical Corp. at Womack Army Hospital in Fayetteville, NC., he returned to Houston in 1978 and has worked here ever since.
He enjoys a close relationship with his patients and appreciates the opportunity to engage with them one-on-one whenever possible, whether it’s listening to them explain a condition or sharing test results over the phone.
Dr. Dorsch is fluent in both Spanish and German. When he’s not caring for patients, he enjoys working with his extensive epiphyllum cactus collection. In fact, Dr. Dorsch belongs to many epiphyllum societies and has given lectures on these plants in the United States and Europe.
